On Wednesday I saw a film called The Gatekeeper. And OMG, it was great but it really made you think. It's about this border patrol agent named Adam Fields who also works with a vigilante group that attack Mexicans that are crossing the border. So he go undercover in Mexico to travel over the border with the help of a Coyote (a person who helps people cross the border into the US).
Well things happen, i won't go into it 'cause it could ruin the movie, and he ends up in indentured servitude, making crack in this little shack. As the movie progresses his view of the Mexican people changes as does his self-hatred for being half Mexican.
I will say some of the images were disturbing, but the message that was intended got across fully. It was a story that I will never forget. The anger and emotion that he felt and the way these people were being treated was... I don't even know what words to use. But I strongly suggest for people to see the film.
The guy who directed it, John Carlos Frey, is also the producer and plays Adam Fields.
